Covid-19 (Aug 7): 2,728 new cases, 6 deaths
COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 2,728 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.
Active cases currently stood at 45,770. This figure has been relatively stable over the past two weeks.
New cases according to states are as follows:

Negeri Sembilan (146)
Johor (116)
Kedah (101)
Malacca (101)
Sarawak (55)
Pahang (52)
Kelantan (44)

Another six deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday. These deaths were reported in Johor (2), Perak (1), Penang (1), Sabah (1) and Putrajaya (1).
Over the past week, an average of 8.1 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 7.5, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the uptrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,026 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
There are 1,529 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised, of which 52 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (173), followed by Johor (72) and Sabah (71).
