MyGenom: 10k genome sequences to be collected for local reference
The government is targeting a collection of 10,000 genomic sequences through the MyGenom project to create an accurate reference for local genetics to enhance health delivery.
Science, Technology, and Innovation Minister Chang Lih Kang stated that the project aims to establish a reference genome based on healthy individuals, acknowledging that most current human genomic studies focus on populations from Europe, America, or East Asia.
