'Ensure Penang's Malay Islamic heritage in state development plans'
Penang’s opposition chief today expressed hope that aspects of Malay Islamic heritage would not be left out of state development plans and proposed that the Malay settlement in Batu Uban be designated as a heritage area.
Muhammad Fauzi Yusoff (PN-Sungai Dua) said the settlement had existed more than 50 years before the arrival of Francis Light.
