Bookstore raid: Launch probe over 'excessive enforcement' - MP

The Home Ministry should internally investigate the raid and seizure of two books from an independent bookstore last week as it is a clear example of excessive enforcement, said PKR’s Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung.

This is because the ministry cannot invoke Section 7(1) of the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984 to simply confiscate any publications deemed to be unsuitable, he said.
