Covid-19 (Jan 17): 350 new cases, 5 deaths
The Health Ministry said 350 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 5,033,254.
Active cases currently stood at 10,327, down 11.7 percent compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to states are as follows:

Kuala Lumpur (81)
Johor (20)
Malacca (19)
Perak (19)
Sarawak (18)
Kedah (14)
Terengganu (10)
Negeri Sembilan (8)
Sabah (8)
Penang (7)
Kelantan (5)
Pahang (5)
Putrajaya (4)
Perlis (2)
Labuan (2)
Another 5 deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which 2 were declared as "brought in dead".
Over the past week, an average of 3.9 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 3.8, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the uptrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,919 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
The state with the highest death was Kuala Lumpur (2), followed by Johor, Negeri Sembilan, and Selangor with one each.
There are 410 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 16 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Sabah (47) followed by Selangor (38) and Johor (14).
