Covid-19 (Jan 13): 320 new cases, 3 deaths
COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 320 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 5,032,146.
Active cases currently stood at 10,937, down 8.9 percent compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to states are as follows:
Selangor (105)
Kuala Lumpur (53)
Sarawak (25)
Malacca (24)
Penang (18)
Perak (17)
Johor (15)
Putrajaya (13)
Kedah (12)
Negeri Sembilan (10)
Pahang (9)
Sabah (6)
Labuan (5)
Kelantan (4)
Terengganu (3)
Perlis (1)
Another three deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, but none was declared as "brought in dead".
Over the past week, an average of 5.4 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 4.1, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the uptrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,908 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
The deaths were in Sarawak (2) and Kedah (1).
There are 453 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 17 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Sabah (51) followed by Selangor (39) and Kuala Lumpur (10).
