Covid-19 (Jan 10): 380 new cases, 9 deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 380 new Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active infections stood at 11,412, down 11.7 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Selangor (88)
Kuala Lumpur (67)
Sarawak (51)
Kedah (23)
Malacca (23)
Negeri Sembilan (20)
Perak (19)
Johor (15)
Terengganu (15)
Sabah (14)
Pahang (12)
Putrajaya (9)
Kelantan (8)
Labuan (8)
Penang (7)
Perlis (1)

Another nine deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, mostly in Kuala Lumpur (5), followed by Selangor (3) and Malacca (1).

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,892 deaths have been attributed to the disease.

There are 542 Covid-19 patients who are still hospitalised of which 26 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (55) followed by Sabah (44) and Sarawak (14).
