Covid-19 (Jan 3): 333 new cases, 1 death
COVID-19 | The Health Ministry said 333 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 5,027,790.
Active cases currently stood at 11,763, down 20.8 percent compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to states are as follows:

Perak (20)
Johor (18)
Malacca (18)
Penang (17)
Sabah (17)
Kelantan (14)
Negeri Sembilan (12)
Pahang (5)

Another death attributed to Covid-19 was reported yesterday, in Pahang.
Over the past week, an average of 2.6 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 4.9, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the downtrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,859 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
There are 622 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised, of whom 32 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (45) followed by Sabah (41) and Johor (22).
