Covid-19 (Jan 2): 360 new cases, 1 death
COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 360 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.
Active cases stood at 11,807, down 23.4 percent compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to states are as follows:
Selangor (109)
Kuala Lumpur (40)
Kedah (32)
Sarawak (23)
Malacca (21)
Penang (21)
Johor (19)
Perak (17)
Kelantan (15)
Pahang (15)
Negeri Sembilan (14)
Terengganu (11)
Putrajaya (11)
Sabah (10)
Perlis (2)
One death attributed to Covid-19 was reported yesterday in Sarawak.
Over the past week, an average of 3.3 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 4.9, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on a downtrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,858 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
There are 580 Covid-19 patients hospitalised of which 30 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (39) followed by Sabah (34) and Johor (23).
