Covid-19 (Dec 28): 480 new cases, 4 deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 480 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active cases currently stood at 12,920, down 23.1 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Selangor (136)
Kuala Lumpur (69)
Sarawak (44)
Kedah (35)
Perak (34)
Penang (32)
Pahang (25)
Malacca (22)
Sabah (18)
Kelantan (17)
Johor (14)
Putrajaya (13)
Negeri Sembilan (10)
Terengganu (9)
Labuan (2)

Another 4 deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday in Johor, Kedah, Malacca and Sarawak.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,845 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There have been 161 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 209 deaths last month and 101 deaths in October.

There are 666 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 41 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (59) followed by Sabah (48) and Kuala Lumpur (27).
