Govt agrees to allow temporary import of chicken eggs

The Agriculture and Food Security Ministry has agreed to temporarily allow the import of chicken eggs from external sources and the decision would be reviewed when domestic supply stabilises.

In a statement issued today, the ministry said the move was taken to overcome egg supply shortage facing the country for the past few months.
