Covid-19 (Nov 21): 2,121 new cases, 12 deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 2,121 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active cases currently stood at 27,141, down 23.7 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Another 14 deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which four were declared as "brought in dead".

Over the past week, an average of 7.9 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 5.5, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the uptrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,609 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There have been 134 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 101 deaths last month and 158 deaths in September.

There are 1,900 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 92 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (163) followed by Sabah (114) and Perak (50).
