Covid-19 (Nov 11): 3,245 new cases, 4 deaths

The Health Ministry said 3,245 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 4,943,701.

Active cases currently stood at 32,987, up 7.4 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Malacca (264)

Sabah (204)

Penang (160)

Sarawak (139)

Kedah (125)

Negeri Sembilan (123)

Kelantan (107)

Putrajaya (104)

Perak (93)

Pahang (88)

Another 4 deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which 1 was declared as "brought in dead". The deaths were recorded in Negeri Sembilan and Sabah (2 each).

Over the past week, an average of 6.4 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 4.3, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the uptrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,537 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There are 1,792 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 87 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (170) followed by Sabah (108) and Johor (72).
