Covid-19 (Oct 19): 2,295 new cases, 3 deaths
COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 2,295 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.
Active cases currently stood at 24,331, up 3.1 percent compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to states are as follows:

Kuala Lumpur (625)
Perak (145)
Sabah (145)
Negeri Sembilan (79)
Penang (73)
Kedah (67)
Sarawak (64)
Malacca (62)
Kelantan (57)
Johor (46)
Pahang (42)
Terengganu (32)

Another three deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which one was declared as "brought in dead".
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,429 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
There have been 55 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 158 deaths last month and 247 deaths in August.
There are 1,072 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised, of which 44 are in intensive care.
The number of hospitalised patients is up 18.45 percent compared to a week ago.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (89), followed by Sabah (74) and Johor (47).
