Covid-19 (Oct 14): 2,231 new cases, 5 deaths
The Health Ministry said 2,231 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 4,863,457.
Active cases currently stood at 23,557, down 5.8 percent compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to states are as follows:

Another 5 deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which 1 was declared as "brought in dead".
Over the past week, an average of 3 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 4, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the downtrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,415 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
There have been 41 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 158 deaths last month and 247 deaths in August.
The state with the highest death was Selangor (3), followed by Perak, and Penang with 1 each.
There are 976 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 34 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (101) followed by Sabah (81) and Johor (52).
