Covid-19 (Oct 13): New cases cross 2,000 mark
COVID-19 | New daily Covid-19 cases crossed the 2,000 mark for the first time in two weeks.
According to the Health Ministry, there were 2,090 new daily Covid-19 cases reported yesterday, of which half the cases were reported in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur alone.
New cases according to states are as follows:
Selangor (638)
Kuala Lumpur (582)
Perak (162)
Sabah (124)
Penang (105)
Kedah (79)
Malacca (68)
Sarawak (67)
Negeri Sembilan (58)
Johor (54)
Kelantan (45)
Pahang (40)
Putrajaya (35)
Terengganu (25)
Perlis (6)
Labuan (2)
Another three deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday in Johor (2) and Kedah (1).
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,410 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
There have been 36 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 158 deaths last month and 247 deaths in August.
There are 916 Covid-19 patients hospitalised, of whom 33 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (93) followed by Sabah (76) and Johor (44).
