Covid-19 (Oct 5): 1,722 new cases, 2 deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 1,722 new Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active infections stood at 23,038, down 10.2 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Kedah (53)

Johor (37)

Two deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday. Both were declared as "brought in dead".

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,387 deaths have been attributed to the disease.

There are 979 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 48 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (105) followed by Sabah (88) and Johor (26).
