Covid-19 (Oct 4): 1,483 new cases, 5 deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 1,483 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active cases currently stood at 22,957, down 9.4 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Sarawak (91)
Kedah (73)
Malacca (73)
Penang (69)
Negeri Sembilan (51)
Kelantan (46)
Johor (37)
Pahang (35)
Putrajaya (23)

Perlis (5)
Labuan (3)

Another five deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which one were declared as "brought in dead".

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,385 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There are 957 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 42 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (93) followed by Sabah (86) and Johor (34).
