Covid-19 (Oct 2): 1,360 new cases, 1 death

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 1,360 new Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active infections stood at 24,097, down 3.9 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

The Health Ministry reported one new death attributed to Covid-19 yesterday which was classified as "brought in dead". The victim was from Terengganu.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,375 deaths have been attributed to the disease.

There were 158 deaths reported last month and 247 in August.

There are 977 Covid-19 patients hospitalised of which 45 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (82) followed by Sabah (74) and Perak (24).
