Covid-19 (Sept 30): 2,007 new cases, 5 deaths
COVID-19 | The Health Ministry said 2,007 new Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative infections to 4,840,879.
Active cases stood at 25,769, down one percent compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to states are as follows:

Perak (174)
Sabah (171)
Negeri Sembilan (122)
Penang (117)
Sarawak (80)
Kedah (79)
Malacca (60)
Johor (45)
Putrajaya (34)
Pahang (30)
Kelantan (24)

Another five deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which one was declared as "brought in dead".
Over the past week, an average of 4.1 people were reported to have died of the disease, while the average for the past 30 days was 5.3, indicating that such deaths are on the downtrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,374 deaths have been attributed to the coronavirus.
There have been 158 reported deaths this month. For comparison, there were 158 last month and 247 in August.
The state with the highest death was Selangor (2), followed by Johor, Perak, and Sabah with one each.
There are 1,014 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised, of which 42 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (89) followed by Sabah (70) and Johor (41).
