Covid-19 (Sept 28): 2,445 new cases, 2 deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 2,445 new Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active infections stood at 24,713, down 9.2 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Selangor (990)
Kuala Lumpur (441)
Perak (184)
Sabah (176)
Negeri Sembilan (119)
Kedah (83)
Sarawak (82)
Penang (78)
Malacca (68)
Kelantan (67)
Johor (60)
Pahang (40)
Putrajaya (31)
Terengganu (24)
Perlis (2)

Another two deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday in Perak (1) and Sabah (1).

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,365 deaths have been attributed to the disease.

There have been 149 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 247 deaths last month and 204 in July.

There are 1,105 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 41 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Sabah (88) followed by Selangor (87) and Johor (40).
