Covid-19 (Sept 25): 1,608 new cases, 2 deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 1,608 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active cases currently stood at 24,532, down 5.8 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Sarawak (52)

Putrajaya (31)
Kelantan (29)

Another two deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday in Perak and Sarawak.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,350 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There have been 134 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 247 deaths last month and 204 deaths in July.

There are 1,142 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised, of which 51 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Sabah (74), followed by Selangor (69) and Johor (47).
