Covid-19 (Sept 14): 2,431 new cases, 5 deaths
COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 2,431 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.
This is the first time daily cases have crossed the 2,000-mark in a week.
Active cases currently stood at 26,299, down 16.4 percent compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to states are as follows:

Sarawak (112)
Penang (108)
Negeri Sembilan (105)
Kedah (100)
Malacca (82)
Kelantan (78)
Johor (64)
Pahang (64)

Another five deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which two were declared as "brought in dead".
Deaths were reported in Perak (3), Sabah (1) and Sarawak (1).
Over the past week, an average of 4.9 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 6.8, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the downtrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,296 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
There are 1,206 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised, of which 62 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (86) followed by Sabah (81) and Perak (41).
