Covid-19 (Sept 10): 1,971 new cases, 3 deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry said 1,971 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 4,803,624.

Active cases stood at 26,949, down 18.1 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Negeri Sembilan (75)

Another three deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, none of which were declared as "brought in dead".

The three deaths were in Malacca (1), Pahang (1) and Sarawak (1).

Over the past week, an average of 4.9 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 7.0, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the downtrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,277 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There are 1,224 Covid-19 patients hospitalised of which 69 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (90) followed by Sabah (67) and Johor (51).
