Labour law: Employers need time to resolve worker shortage - Saravanan

The deferment of the Implementation of the amended Employment Act 1955 from Sept 1, 2022, to Jan 1, 2023, is to give time for employers to address their problems on shortage of workers and recruitment of foreign workers, said Human Resource Minister M Saravanan.

He said implementation of the amended law was deferred upon request by the employers themselves.
