Covid-19 (Aug 15): 2,437 new infections, ICU cases highest in 3 months
COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 2,437 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday while patients in intensive care continue to rise.
Active cases currently stood at 42,203, down 4.6 percent compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to states are as follows:

Another eight deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which two were declared as "brought in dead".
These deaths were reported in Johor (2), Malacca (2), Perak (2), Pahang (1) and Penang (1).
Over the past week, an average of 8.7 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 8.2, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the uptrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,093 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
There have been 124 reported Covid-19 deaths this month so far. For comparison, there were 204 deaths last month and 89 deaths in June.
There are 1,566 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised, of which 81 are in intensive care.
The number of patients in intensive care has been rising throughout this month.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (118) followed by Sabah (81) and Johor (57).
