Covid-19 (July 29): 4,860 new cases, 10 deaths
COVID-19 | The Health Ministry said 4,860 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 4,672,999.
Active cases currently stood at 48,300, up 13.8 percent compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to states are as follows:

Kuala Lumpur (1,466)
Sabah (292)
Perak (272)
Penang (246)
Negeri Sembilan (195)
Kedah (150)
Malacca (112)
Johor (95)
Putrajaya (95)
Sarawak (94)
Pahang (73)
Kelantan (64)

Terengganu (21)

Another 10 deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which one was declared as “brought in dead”.
Over the past week, an average of 7.7 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 6.4, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the uptrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 35,956 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
The deaths were reported in Selangor (5), Johor (2), Kedah (2) and Sabah (1).
There are currently 1,883 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised, of which 60 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (159), followed by Johor (94) and Sabah (75).
