Covid-19 (July 21): 4,587 new cases, 10 deaths
COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 4,587 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.
Active cases currently stood at 47,409, up 34.7 percent compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to states are as follows:
Kuala Lumpur (1,408)
Selangor (1,399)
Perak (360)
Negeri Sembilan (285)
Sabah (267)
Penang (237)
Johor (130)
Kedah (109)
Malacca (100)
Putrajaya (65)
Sarawak (64)
Kelantan (57)
Pahang (41)

Another ten deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which five were declared as "brought in dead".
Deaths were reported in Selangor (4), Malacca (1), Pahang (1), Perak (1), Penang (1), Sarawak (1) and Terengganu (1).
Over the past week, an average of 7.4 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 5, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the uptrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 35,888 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
There have been 123 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For context, there were 89 deaths last month and 129 deaths in May.
There are 1,451 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 63 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (155) followed by Johor (82) and Sabah (82).
