Covid-19 (July 10): 3,264 new cases, 2 deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 3,264 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active cases currently stood at 35,882, up 27.8 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Selangor (1,326)
Kuala Lumpur (847)
Perak (230)
Sabah (208)
Penang (144)
Negeri Sembilan (131)
Putrajaya (84)
Johor (75)
Malacca (62)
Sarawak (47)
Pahang (38)
Kedah (37)
Kelantan (14)
Terengganu (12)
Labuan (5)
Perlis (4)

Another two deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday in Sarawak and Selangor.

Over the past week, an average of 5 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 3.4, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the uptrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 35,811 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There are 1,156 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised, of which 43 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (138), followed by Johor (90) and Sabah (60).
