Covid-19 (June 20): 2,093 new cases, 3 deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 2,093 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active cases currently stood at 25,952, up 22.5 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Selangor (1,007)

Kuala Lumpur (444)

Penang (155)

Negeri Sembilan (82)

Sabah (76)

Johor (62)

Perak (62)

Malacca (58)

Sarawak (34)

Kedah (30)

Pahang (23)

Putrajaya (19)

Kelantan (18)

Terengganu (14)

Perlis (8)

Labuan (1)

Another three deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday in Kedah, Penang and Selangor.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 35,735 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There have been 59 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 129 deaths last month and 564 deaths in April.

There are 985 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised, of which 23 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (138) followed by Johor (93) and Sabah (48).
