Covid-19 (June 19): 1,690 new cases, no deaths reported for first time in 18 months
COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 1,690 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.
Active cases currently stood at 25,944, up 20 percent compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to states are as follows:

Perak (95)
Sabah (93)
Penang (92)
Negeri Sembilan (84)
Johor (56)
Malacca (53)
Putrajaya (51)
Sarawak (48)
Kedah (36)
Pahang (19)
Kelantan (16)
Terengganu (7)
Perlis (3)
Labuan (2)
The Health Ministry did not report any deaths related to Covid-19 yesterday.
Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said noted on Twitter that the last time zero deaths were reported was on Dec 18, 2020.
This month saw 56 Covid-19 deaths being reported. There were 129 such deaths reported last month and 564 in April.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 35,732 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
There are 1,000 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 23 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admission yesterday was recorded in Selangor (128) followed by Johor (78) and Sabah (60).
This is the first time the number of admitted Covid-19 patients has reached the four-figure mark since May 27.
However, the number of patients in intensive care has remained generally stable.
