Covid-19 (May 30): 1,325 new cases, 4 deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry said 1,325 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 4,505,059.

Active cases currently stood at 23,779, down 22.0 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Another 4 deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which 1 were declared as "brought in dead".

Over the past week, an average of 3.4 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 4.1, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the downtrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 35,669 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There have been 122 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 564 deaths last month and 2235 deaths in March.

Kedah reported two deaths while Malacca and Negeri Sembilan recorded one death each.

There are 954 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 32 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (117) followed by Johor (105) and Sabah (84).
