Jakim will abide by Selangor sultan's decree

The Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) will abide by the decree issued by Selangor ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah that the department cannot issue any statement regarding the decisions made by the Muzakarah Committee of the National Council for Islamic Religious Affairs (MKI), its director-general Hakimah Mohd Yusoff said.

Hakimah said she as MKI’s secretary has noted and will abide by Sultan Sharafuddin’s statement, issued in his capacity as the council’s chairperson today.
