Covid-19 (Feb 2): 5,736 cases, highest in two months
COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 5,736 new Covid-19 cases today, bringing the cumulative infections to 2,882,060.
The fresh infections today is the highest in 62 days, since Dec 2.
As of yesterday, the hospital utilisation rate stands at 60.2 percent while the intensive care unit occupancy rate is 49.9 percent.
Meanwhile, the infectivity rate continued to inch upwards to 1.15, firmly putting the country's Covid-19 cases on an ascending trajectory.
The value must be kept under 1.0 to prevent exponential growth in fresh infections.
The number of fresh infections were more than the number of Covid-19 patients who recovered, which totalled 3196. This is expected to contribute to a rise in the number of active cases.
- Patients in ICU: 112
