Covid-19 (Jan 22): Rise in infections, 4,116 new cases

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 4,116 new Covid-19 cases today, bringing the cumulative infections to 2,829,089.

The fresh infections were more than the number of Covid-19 patients who recovered, which totalled 2,858. This is expected to contribute to a rise in the number of active cases.

• Patients in ICU: 141
• Intubated: 62

The Health Ministry will only publish today's breakdown of new cases by states after midnight on its CovidNow portal.

The breakdown by states for yesterday (Jan 20), where 3,764 new cases were reported, is as follows:
