Covid-19 (Dec 30): 3,997 cases, R-number at 0.95
COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 3,997 new Covid-19 cases today.
The national R-number is creeping upwards and was at 0.95 as of yesterday, while Kelantan's R-number was 1.01. An R-number below 1.00 suggests the outbreak is decelerating.
The Health Ministry will only publish today's breakdown of new cases by states after midnight on its CovidNow portal.
The breakdown by states for yesterday (Dec 29), when 3,683 new cases were reported, is as follows:

Most of the new cases involved Malaysians (96.3 percent) while another 146 are non-citizens (3.7 percent).
The number of Covid-19 patients who require intensive care (281) or are intubated (155) is continuing to trend down.
There are 221 active Covid-19 clusters. Another three were classified today.
The number of active clusters is down 4.3 percent compared to a week ago.
