Covid-19 (Dec 18): 4,083 cases, cumulative total 2.7m
COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 4,083 new Covid-19 cases today, bringing the cumulative infections to 2,715,847.
The new infections were surpassed by a total of 5,435 Covid-19 patients who recovered today. This is expected to help reduce the number of active cases.
- Patients in ICU: 391
- Intubated: 215
Nationally, the number of hospital admissions of confirmed Covid-19 patients in the last seven days has declined by 13.5 percent compared to the preceding week.
The Health Ministry will only publish today's breakdown of new cases by states after midnight on its CovidNow portal.
The breakdown by states for yesterday (Dec 17), when 4,362 new cases were reported, is as follows:

Sarawak's 24 cases yesterday is the lowest in 341 days since Jan 11 this year.
