Covid: Cases in Sarawak down again to two digits

The number of daily new Covid-19 cases in Sarawak has dropped again to two digits at 91 compared to 121 yesterday.

The State Disaster Management Committee in a statement today said 11 of the new cases involved patients with lung infection needing respiratory support while the other 80 had mild or no symptoms.

Among the areas registering a high number of cases were Kuching with 26, followed by Sibu (16), Miri (9), Serian (8), and Bintulu (7) while the only fatal case recorded today involved a 79-year-old individual in Sibu, it added.

Meanwhile, the number of active clusters in Sarawak remains at two, namely, the Jalan Sultan Tengah Rampangi and Ong Tiang Swee, both in Kuching.
