BN's plan to nominate five lawmakers in Malacca 'won't stop defection'

PARLIAMENT | Amending the state constitution to enable the appointment of five assemblypersons in Malacca state legislative assembly will not stop defection of government lawmakers, said Khoo Poay Tiong (Harapan-Kota Melaka).

"BN pledged (in its election manifesto) to amend the state constitution to appoint five state assemblypersons if it wins in the Malacca polls because it has no faith in its candidates.

"Umno is afraid that they will defect. They want to have (additional) five lawmakers...
