Covid-19 (Oct 2): 10,915 cases, lowest in 76 days

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry today reported 10,915 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the cumulative infections to 2,268,499.

The fresh infections today is the lowest in 76 days, since July 18.

In Peninsular Malaysia, the Klang Valley was responsible for 1,583 or 19.8 percent of the new infections while the remaining 6,423 cases or 80.2 percent came from the rest of the peninsular states.

Sarawak topped the chart with 2,121 fresh infections.

However, it is the lowest number of fresh infections for Sarawak in nine days.

The number of recoveries today, 15,396, outpaced that of new cases.

  • Patients in ICU: 888 (832 confirmed; 56 suspected)
  • Intubated: 484 (354 confirmed; 130 probable)

To date, 1,044 Covid-19 clusters are still active, including 10 new clusters reported today.

The ongoing clusters have fallen by 14.0 percent from the 1,214 active clusters a week ago.

The 10 new clusters today comprised four community clusters (40.0 percent), four workplace clusters (40.0 percent) and two high-risk group clusters (20.0 percent).
