SUPP proposes a new DPM II post, to be filled by GPS MP

Vijay47: Like in most fairy tales, SUPP secretary-general Sebastian Ting, your wish is almost certainly to be granted anon.

This will be explained by Putrajaya as further proof that East and West have no twain and all states in Malaysia enjoy the same care, affection, and bounty from the federal government. When your tears of gratitude have ceased, you might want to take measure of where you indeed stand even right now.

You might recall a piece of paper called the Malaysia Agreement, present whereabouts unknown, under which Sarawak and Sabah were to be given similar rights and entitlement as Peninsular Malaysia. Ahh, you might also recall that many are the pledges, few in their fulfilment.

You are so right when you say, “Both Sarawak and Sabah have contributed much to the nation-building all these years, since 1963.” Indeed so, sir. But what did you get in return? The right to be eternal beggars where your practice has made it perfect?

This DPM (deputy prime minister) II post you clamour for will come with fitting authority, perhaps to decide when visiting dignitaries arrive from the City of Promise whether it should be kopi dengan ketupat or teh dengan kueh lapis.

It is equally telling that you propose Fadillah Yusof as one of the candidates. It reveals your abject subservience and acknowledgement that nothing works without veneration of the master race. Or did you forget that the Dayaks form more than 50 percent of Sarawak and the Malays only about 22 percent?

Long story short, you and Sabah truly deserve to be in Malaysia.

Hrrmph: The dust has barely settled but the clamour for positions and power has started. How many times a week must we be reminded that the political leaders in this country only have their own interests in mind?

I would vomit again, but there is nothing left for me to throw out.

Righteousness4all: The spineless political opportunists from GPS should stop asking for ministerial posts.

You missed the boat for not proposing Shafie Apdal as a PM candidate. Instead, you continued to support those from the peninsula.

Moonwalker: Indeed, you rejected the proposal to have Shafie Apdal as PM, who could have done so much for Sabah and Sarawak. Now, you want the number two post instead?

What does it say about you? Malaysia will never be out of the woods if we continue to support these types of politicians.

It is pathetic. I just wonder if there is still hope for Malaysia when the country is so steep in corruption.

PKC: GPS, you had the opportunity to be the kingmaker and fight for the rights of Sabah and Sarawak, but you sold out to the backdoor government.

Now, you are asking for crumbs? You are no different from MCA.

Falcon: Another “brilliant” mistake, and so soon. It shows the lack of vision and they are just clamouring for the spoils of war. And this is just after a Perak reject made similar calls, how repulsive and vulgar.

Who really cares about the common folk? The double-talk and hypocrisy are just unbelievable. Perhaps we should all just look in the mirror.

Meanwhile, 1.5 million were infected by Covid-19 and we just crossed 14,000 deaths.

Doc: Looking at the multitude of requests/demands made by the coalition partners in PN 2.0 on Ismail Sabri Yaakob, I think there may be anything from five to 10 DPMs and probably 60 to 70 ministers and deputy ministers.

Expect a record-breaking number of ministerial posts to be dished out, probably topping the Muhyiddin administration.

PurpleCondor4800: While the rakyat are suffering, you all are demanding and creating so many unnecessary ministry posts which the rakyat have to pay from their taxes.

What is the logic behind creating a DPM II post? It’s unnecessary like the senior minister posts by the previous PN government.

If this is a PN 2.0 government with the same mistakes as done before, then what can we expect besides another failure?

I am really sad to see another impending failure but we as taxpayers cannot do anything.

VP Biden: The truth is out and the power play is now in motion - satisfying the court cluster, Bersatu, GPS, and a few rogue independent MPs.

This is neither a strong nor stable majority, this is a klepto 2.0 government.

Mkinibs: I am curious that this came up at this time. How will this actually benefit Sarawak people? On the ground level, how have the Sarawak government and politicians taken care of the state, and especially, the people?

In too many places in the rural and interiors, there are no proper roads, no schools, no internet for students and people, no clinics or hospitals, lack of electricity and amenities, etc.

NCR (native customary right) land is taken away, timber licences for the rich tycoons, for decades, certain politicians enriched themselves and their families, building vast empires of wealth, all at the expense of the people.

AdiviPanthi: Yes, the DPM II must be a Christian and an indigenous person of Sarawak. After all, the largest faith in Sarawak is Christianity.

Better still, let the DPM II post be held by someone from the peninsula. Instead, give the main DPM post to a Christian from GPS. You can then rest assured the Sarawakians will support GPS all the way.

It will also throw a spanner into the agenda of PAS. With one stroke, you keep the extremists out. Everyone will be grateful, especially women voters.

Ipoh PP: We already have an oversized cabinet the last time - the biggest in the world for a population of 32 million.

Why don’t you pay from your own pockets instead of taxpayers footing the bill? We are suffering and all you can think about is how to “steal” more money from the people.

Go learn from the Swedish government about how their MPs live and are paid.

The Analyser: The most revolting aspect of Malaysian politics is that not one of them has mentioned anything about the people or the pandemic for weeks.

It’s all about me, me, me.

PinkHarimau0699: Following GPS’ logic, PAS also has 18 seats so they deserve a DPM III post. Bersatu has 31 seats so they also want both the DPM and DPM IV posts. BN has 42 seats so they deserve DPM V and DPM VI posts.

The more the merrier.
