Covid-19 (Aug 7): 210 deaths, 19,257 cases, new highs in Kedah and Pahang

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry today reported 19,257 new Covid-19 cases, dipping slightly after two consecutive days where cases crossed 20,000.

There were 210 deaths today.

• Active cases: 224,120
• Patients in ICU: 1,097
• Intubated: 575

New cases by states

A total of five states and a federal territory recorded fresh infections in the four digits, namely Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Kedah, Sabah and Johor.

The 1,514 new cases recorded in Kedah is a record high, three more than the record set on Aug 1.

Pahang, which reported 714 new cases, is also a record high. The previous record was 676, also on Aug 1.

Deaths

The fatalities today brought the death toll to 10,389.

Deaths were reported in Selangor (88), Kuala Lumpur (33), Johor (28), Kedah (17), Sabah (13), Malacca (8), Perak (6), Kelantan (5), Negeri Sembilan (5), Penang (4), Perlis (1), Pahang (1), Sarawak (1).
