Bersih slams cops for detaining protesters, wants Parliament resumed

The Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (Bersih 2.0) has expressed its solidarity with young people who have taken to the streets to criticise the government and blasted the latter of its clamp down on expression.

“We strongly condemn the excessive action by the police to silence the voices of youth in Parit Raja by detaining them for four days under Section 144, 269, 505 (b) of the Penal Code, Section 8 of the Explosives Act and Section 48 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
