Covid-19 (March 29): New cases fall below 1,000
COVID-19 | The Health Ministry today reported 941 new Covid-19 cases today.
This is the first time new daily cases had fallen below the 1,000 mark since Dec 9 last year.
Only four territories reported new cases in the triple digits - Selangor (219), Sarawak (192), Johor (171) and Penang (164).

States
Based on the average number of new cases over the past 28 days, the states or territories of Kedah, Kelantan, Malacca, Pahang and Sarawak and experiencing an uptrend in new cases.
New cases in the Klang Valley have been steadily reducing over the past 28 days.
In Selangor, new cases have been below 300 for three days straight, down from 633 average daily cases in the same period last month.
Deaths
The Health Ministry report five deaths, bringing the national Covid-19 death toll to 1,260.
The new deaths were recorded in Selangor (1), Sarawak (2) and Sabah (2).
The victims were aged between 42 and 82. There was one foreigner among the victims.

Clusters
There were 373 active clusters being monitored by the Health Ministry as of today, of which 43 reported new cases.
The number of active clusters have been steadily trending downwards. On Feb 28, there were 491 active clusters.
Clusters with the most number of new cases are Pagar Bukit Chagar (60 new cases) which is limited to the Johor Baru district and involving a detention centre.
Three new clusters were classified today. Notably, none involved factories or construction sites which are usually a source of new clusters.
