FACTORIES

- Supermax factory in Meru, Klang, Selangor

The company made a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday that it is implementing a temporary closure on this facility for three days from today until Feb 12, after several Covid-19 positive cases were detected at the factory.

It said that the move is to minimise the risk of further spread of the virus.

The company is also continuing disinfection exercises at all its premises and workers' accommodation.


RESIDENCES

- Avalon and Acacia residences, Seri Tanjong Pinang, Penang

Four security guards here tested positive for Covid-19, the residents association said in a notice to members, dated Feb 5.

- Casa Puteri Condominium, Puchong, Selangor

Two Covid-19 positive cases were reported at this condominium located in Taman Wawasan Puchong.

According to a political party activist, members from a DAP action team had gone to the condominium on Feb 5 to conduct disinfection works. 

- Semenyih New Village, Kajang, Selangor

A youth who lives at this village has tested positive for Covid-19, a DAP activist posted on Facebook on Monday.

According to the post, the patient was sent to the hospital for treatment.

The activist and his group were called to disinfect the patient's house and several locations in the village after the incident.

- Sri Ros Apartment, Kajang, Selangor

According to the Bangi DAP office, four individuals from three families who live at this apartment have tested positive for Covid-19 as of Jan 28.

It said the patients include a father in his 50s who suffered breathing difficulties and had since been warded in the intensive care unit of a hospital.

The political party was called to conduct disinfection at the apartment by its management.

- Green Suria Apartment, Cheras, Selangor

Four residents of this apartment have tested positive for Covid-19 and sent to a hospital for treatment, a DAP activist said on Facebook.

His post on Feb 6 stated that three of the patients lived in Block A while another in Block C of the complex.

Balakong state assemblyperson Wong Siew Ki had led the team that conducted disinfection at the apartment complex.

According to the Kota Tinggi Health Office, Covid-19 cases were detected at these residential areas in the district, yesterday:

The government today announced that this village will be put under the enhanced movement control order (MCO) from tomorrow (Feb 11) until Feb 24.

Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob in a statement said that the decision was made based on Covid-19 risk assessment done by the Health Ministry.

As of yesterday, MOH swab tests on 43 individuals had returned with 16 of them tested positive for the coronavirus. The enhanced MCO is expected to see a mass screening activity involving 400 villagers.

- Town Villa flat and residential area, Sibu, Sarawak

The Sarawak state disaster management committee today decided to place this area under the enhanced MCO from Feb 11 until Feb 25, according to Sarawak Local Government and Housing Minister Sim Kui Hian.

This comes after authorities found 247 new positive cases in Sibu Jaya town, of which 129 were recorded in this residential area.

MARKETS

- Pasar Awam Saratok, Sarawak

A customer who visited here on Jan 27 at 10 to 11am, Jan 30 at 9 - 10am and Feb 2 at 10 to 11am, has tested positive for Covid-19, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee said.


MEDICAL FACILITIES

- PMG Klinik, Saratok, Sarawak

A patient who visited here on Feb 3 at 10 to 10.30am tested positive for Covid-19, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee said.

- Queen Elizabeth II Hospital, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

A cluster of cases have been detected at the neurological ward of this non-Covid hospital, Malaysiakini learnt.

Those testing positive for Covid-19 in this cluster involve patients, caretakers and healthcare workers, it is learnt.

The cluster is called Lorong Damai Bersatu in reference to the hospital's location.

According to the Health Ministry, 21 cases have been detected in this cluster to date, while the index case is a 27-year-old who was screened on Feb 8 before admitted to hospital.


GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS AND OFFICES

- Orang Asli Development Department (Jakoa), Kluang, Johor

According to the Kluang Health Office, a Covid-19 case was detected at Jakoa, Kluang yesterday.


EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

- National Defence University Malaysia (UPNM), Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur

It is learned that the Kandi Sungai Besi Cluster announced by the Health Ministry on Feb 3 is linked to this university.

In the ministry's press release, it was stated that the cluster involved students of a public university in Sungai Besi, and the name of the cluster refers to the locality of their hostels.

As of yesterday, the cluster has recorded 13 positive cases from 270 individuals screened for Covid-19.

Checks online found that UPNM is the only public university in the area, and the university has a hostel called Srikandi 500 in its campus.

The MySejahtera application also shows that there are 13 positive cases reported within 1km radius of the university's swimming pool.

Malaysiakini has contacted the university's public relations officer for comments but has not received any response since yesterday.
