Not complying with workers accommodation rules - 23 charged
A total of 23 employers have been charged in court for failing to comply with the government’s ruling on the provision of workers’ accommodation in accordance with the Workers' Minimum Standards of Housing and Amenities Act 1990 (Act 446).
Deputy Human Resources Minister Awang Hashim said since Act 446 came into force on Sept 1, last year, about 100 operations had been carried out nationwide to check on workers’ living condition.
