Aide in same room with minister for NSC meeting is Covid-19 positive

Editor's Note: This article was updated to reflect that the Covid-19 exposure only involved individuals who participated in meeting from the Human Resources Ministry. Other participants were not exposed as the meeting was virtual.

COVID-19 | Human Resources Minister M Saravanan has been told to undergo quarantine after coming in contact with an aide who later tested positive for Covid-19.

They came in contact when the National Security Council meeting was held virtually on Jan 13 and Saravanan attended the meeting from his ministry.

Saravanan, when contacted, explained that his infected aide was present prior to the meeting to ensure everything was in order. "He (aide) was not in during the meeting," he added.
