Azmin riles PKR, Pejuang and other news you may have missed

1. Bersatu's Azmin Ali riled up Pejuang after claiming that idea for the Perikatan Nasional coalition was conceived by pro-tem Pejuang chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
2. Azmin also ruffled PKR's feathers after calling its president Anwar Ibrahim a "bitter man" and described himself as a "not ambitious" politician. Azmin was previously the PKR deputy president and he defected to Bersatu.
3. In Umno, factionalism persisted with president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi asking his party leaders and members not to pressure Muhyiddin Yassin on the deputy prime minister post after vice-president Ismail Sabri Yaakob said he will pursue the matter with the prime minister.
4. Bersatu unanimously approved the creation of a new wing for non-bumiputera associate members.
5. Amid a backlash over the opposition's failure to seek divisional voting during the second reading of Budget 2021, Anwar defended the decision stating that the opposition's job is not to oppose everything. However, he said the opposition will make its move during the third reading.
6. A group of Amanah grassroots leaders said the unilateral decision not to have divisional voting had tarnished Pakatan Harapan's reputation.
7. Former finance minister Lim Guan Eng accused his successor Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz of a vendetta, questioning why Putrajaya cancelled its loan guarantee for the Penang LRT project even though it won't cost the federal government any money.
8. Zafrul said he is not interested in politics and has no plans to join any party.
9. On the Covid-19 front, the country reported 1,309 new cases with almost 500 of them in Kuala Lumpur.
10. Almost 1,000 people were also sent for testing after the emergence of a Covid-19 cluster linked to Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM).
11. The significant drop in gold prices recently also saw jewellery shops in Kelantan being swarmed, leading authorities to issue several fines for violation of standard operating procedures against Covid-19.
