MOE shuts down all schools in Kuching red zones until Nov 13
COVID-19 | The Education Ministry (MOE) has ordered all schools in Kuching red zones to close from tomorrow (Oct 30) until Nov 13, amid a rise in Covid-19 cases in Sarawak's capital city.
Some 209 education institutions, including private schools, matriculation colleges and teaching institutes will be closed.
Kuching has 80 active Covid-19 cases as of yesterday, with 69 being reported in the last 14 days.
Parents whose children are in boarding schools are required to take them home.
However, MOE said students could choose to remain in hostels throughout the closure period, under the care of wardens, with their food needs provided for by the schools.
Private school students undergoing international exams need to get letters from their schools to sit for the exams.
