Roadblocks in Klang's Bukit Tinggi and Taman Sri Andalas

COVID-19 | As part of the conditional movement control order (MCO) to take effect in the Klang sub-district tomorrow, Klang Selatan police chief Shamsul Amar Ramli has announced a list of roadblocks and road closures that will impact travel within the affected district.

The roadblocks and road closures are as follows:

Bukit Tinggi, Klang will see roadblocks at Persiaran Pegaga (opposite Subaidah Restaurant) and Jalan Kim Chuan Road (opposite 99 Speedmart). There will also be road closures at Jalan Batu Unjur 9 and the entrance of the Onking Chain-Store electrical shop, as well as the entrance of Wisfatt Motorcycle Shop.

Taman Sri Andalas, Klang will see a roadblock at the intersection of Jalan Tun Dr Ismail, while road closures will be in front of Ar Rahimiah Mosque, Jalan Sri Siantan, Jalan Sri Siantan 41 and Jalan Sri Damak 53.

"Those who wish to enter and leave the Bukit Tinggi area (specifically Bayu Perdana, Flat Sri Angkasa, Apartment Vista Bayu and Bayu Villa apartments) and Taman Sri Andalas are advised to obtain a letter of permission from the police.

"Mobile police stations will be operational at both locations and no permission letter/special permit is required for the purpose of leaving or entering other areas in the Klang district so far (subject to current changes)," Shamsul said in a statement this evening.

He advised the public to always comply with the MCO standard operating procedure and reminded them that compound fines will be issued if there is non-compliance.

The public may contact the police Covid-19 Op Operations Room online or at 03-33762400 if they have any questions or complaints, he added.

Earlier today, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the conditional MCO applies only to the area within the Klang sub-district and not other areas such as Port Klang and Kapar.

The Klang sub-district is one of two sub-districts (the other being the Kapar sub-district) that makes up the Klang district.

Ismail had said that to ensure economic activity and supply of goods are not affected, economic activities would be permitted to operate as follows:

  • Wholesale market from 4am to 2pm
  • Regular market from 6am to 2pm
  • Farmers' market from 6am to noon

However, night market operations are not allowed, he added.

Restaurants and food stalls can also be opened but are limited from 6am to 10pm and only for purchase by drive-through, delivery and take-away.

Public transport such as buses and taxis, including e-hailing services, are allowed to operate between 6am and midnight.
